It’s started. It’s going on right now, as a matter a fact.
And I’m missing it.
Granted, it’s running until April 22nd.
But I want to be there RIGHT NOW. But I have to work. All weekend.
The World Ski and Snowboard Festival is, simply put, a really really really really really good time.
It’s pretty well the coolest event of the year and features amazing concerts, comps, demos, freebies, parties, events in a town known to excel in all of the above. It always is such a wicked way to wind down the season. Even the most burned-out ski bum can muster up energy and enthusiasm from the reserves to savour each and every moment. And all the free stuff certainly helps since most first-seasoners have drained their savings long, long ago.
The overall vibe in the village is absolutely electric each spring when the WSSF is happening. And with the snow still being so awesome, combined with the blue skies and sunshine. Well, magnify it all by about 1 Million!!!
And it’s all happening without me. Right this very minute. I can hear the bass booming from some free concert….hear the laughter as the snowboarders share their observations from a day spent in the park…Oh, gawd…are they eating free food?
I think I just might be coming down with the flu….
