26th Annual Brackendale Eagle Festival

Now that the Holiday Season is over, it’s time to honour your New Years Resolutions to get out and enjoy the simpler things in life. Living in the Sea to Sky Corridor provides us with endless opportunites to breath fresh air, enjoy the solitude of the forests and beaches, and wonder at the majesty of those magnificent bald eagles that also call the Sea to Sky “home” this time of year.

Annual Eagle Count: Sunday January 8 – Counters meet at the Brackendale  Art Gallery 8am.  The Art Gallery will be open to the public 9am-10pm

Brackendale Winter Eagle Festival Art of the Natural World Lecture Series:

Sunday January 15, 8pm – Rant ‘n’ Rafe- A fireside chat with Thor’s favorite pundit Rafe Mair.

Sunday January 22, 8pm – Herring’s Revival & Survival -John Matsen & Douglas Swanston in Conversation.

Sunday January 29, 8pm: Chum  populations on the Cheakamus River and beyondFisheries biologists Don McCubbing & Caroline Melville share their research and observations, histories and trends of chum in the Cheakamus River.

Saturday Concert Series:

Saturday January 6, 8pm – Marc Destubé & Friends -This Mozart Quintet of internationally renowned musicians featuring Destrubé Farran James, Joanna Hood, Steve Creswell and Joanna Blendulf is unforgettable performance not to be missed.

Saturday January 14, 8pm – Brighter Lights Thicker Glasses -An outstanding acoustic trio of John Palmer, Brian Samuels and Michael Dunn will have everyone tapping their toes.

Saturday January 28, Dinner 7pm,  Valdy in Concert 8pm -Valdy & the Eagle Band, BAG favorite once again closes the Festival.

Brackendale Art Gallery School of Art:

Jan 16 & 18 and Jan. 23 & 25  (Mon./Wed.)  7pm to 9pm – Intuitive Watercolour Workshop with Pat Robinson – This four-night workshop explores an intriguing art form using flowing and melding colours, stunning backgrounds and images. $150 includes supplies.

Eagle Art Show:
Featuring paintings and photographs by renowned West Coast  Artists including: Norm Rich, George Blumel, Roy Hamaguchi, Ed Dubois and Ken
